How can I volunteer my help?
Volunteers working in our booth inform visitors about the creek, watershed and our work.
If you have some spare time, you can help!
Our public events, such as creek cleanups or planting events, invite volunteers to work just a few hours on a one-time or occasional basis. These events are published on our website and our monthly E-news and require no advance commitment unless you’ve agreed to help set up or assist at the event.
The next level up is for those who can spare a few hours several times a year and are willing to help organize events, work with partner organizations, or help with special projects as they arise.
For those able to make longer-term commitments, we can use volunteers to help with ongoing work such as managing our website or helping plan and carry out fund-raising. These tasks don’t require attending regular meetings.
The highest level of commitment is to join our Board of Directors. Our board meets once a month, usually the fourth Tuesday of the month. Board members are expected to attend most meetings (so that we can have a quorum and carry out business). It’s clearly a very satisfying commitment, because many of our boardmembers have served more than five years. Boardmembers are volunteers, too, and serve without compensation.
We also have an Advisory Council for those with additional skills or knowledge but who can’t attend regular board meetings.
