The last weekend in August is the occasion of Culver City’s annual big party in the park at the Veteran’s Memorial complex. The 2015 edition was warm, but a breeze helped keep the event comfortable, as did numerous vendors of food and drinks.

Liana Magkolas, Evan Dumas and Blake Hottle were three of many volunteers staffing our educational booth.
BCR created its usual educational booth, with maps, photos, diagrams and staff members to explain what Ballona Creek is, what the watershed is, and how BCR helps to improve them and to educate others. Boardmember and artist Lucy Blake-Elahi also created an art project for children to help them visualize the many kinds of birds that live in the creek and surrounding wetlands.
