(Rain Cancels)
BCR and the CULVER CITY HIGH BCR CLUB welcome volunteers of all ages for this fun and worthwhile activity where the inland water and incoming tide meet—a special place of water, fish, birds, and plants—yet still too much concrete and mostly-plastic ocean-bound trash! It’s also a great way for students to earn community service credits!
With the BCR-initiated Culver City ban on polystyrene food and beverage containers now in place (THANK YOU, CULVER CITY!), we hope to see a little less polystyrene in future cleanups. However, similar bans are still needed in other watershed municipalities.
As with all creek and coastal cleanups, participants under 18 need waiver forms signed by their parent or guardian, available either on-site or CLICK HERE! Adult volunteers sign waivers on-site.
Details: Wear close-toed shoes (preferably water-resistant) and sunscreen. Bring your own water in a reusable container. Water also will be available at the event, along with bags, grabbers, gloves, buckets, and educational displays. For more, CLICK HERE!
Thanks for your interest and participation!
