“Rivers of the World ” Mural Restoration

Rivers Rest 0061BBCR’s striking mural “Rivers of the World” was renovated in April, 2015, to reverse the effects of  time and weather, scrapes by maintenance vehicles, and (unfortunately) graffiti and damage by other passers-by. The work took over a week, including wall preparation, actual painting by many community volunteers under the guidance of professional artists, and application of an anti-graffiti coasting. Were you one of the volunteers? Click here for photos of volunteers painting and see if you can find one of yourself.

“Rivers of the World” is located on the bikepath access ramp at Duquesne Avenue. See our article about Ballona Creek Murals under “Projects” on this website for more information about this and our other mural, “Postcards from Ballona”, on the bikepath access ramp on the west side of Overland Avenue, next to the library.
